It took DOT crews about 5 hours to re-open that stretch of I-85 near Jefferson: all lanes of the interstate were closed after a Tuesday afternoon accident with a crane, and the DOT will have a southbound lane closed again this morning while workers repair the interstate that was damaged in the accident. The DOT says there were no injuries, but they say about 800 feet of I-85 cable barrier was damaged. The accident happened around 5 o'clock Tuesday afternoon; the DOT re-opened the interstate around 10 o'clock last night.
